Things you should avoid on Valentine’s day
With Valentine’s Day being right around the corner, love is in the air. Whether you’re single or found the right one already, you’re most likely to be clueless on Valentine’s day. People tend to make more relationship mistakes during Valentine’s week than the rest of the year. But this time, we got your back. From tips on how to NOT turn off your bae to how not to blow up your amazing dinner date, read on to know things you should avoid on Valentine’s day!
If you’re single…
Blind date: Let’s admit it, blind dates seldom turn out to be good. Unless you want to remember a bad experience on Valentine’s Day every year, it’s wise to try your luck on other days!
Anonymous gifts: Sending anonymous gifts to your crush can be tempting but unfortunately, they don’t work. Your crush won’t appreciate this either and it’s always better to be clear. That will save effort from both sides!
Watch a romantic movie: It’s okay to watch a movie while you’re alone but make sure it isn’t a romantic one!
After watching couples all day, that’s the last thing you want to end up with. Also, let’s not pay a visit to the old crushes and romantic moments on this day at least!
Drink outside: If you have to drink, drink in the comfort of your home and go to sleep with a peaceful mind. Sobbing alone while watching couples at a club is both risky and painful. Save yourself!
Get yourself presents and pretend someone sent you: No, it doesn’t help. Making up stories when others ask you about your relationship doesn’t feel special and looking at the ideal gifts you’d have wished from someone later is worse. Be real, it’s okay to be single.
Mock couples: Just don’t. This doesn’t help anyone and let people do what makes them happy. Instead, focus on how to have a worthy Valentine’s day for the single you! Have one of the best days of “Me time”.
If you’re committed…
Buying gift cards/vouchers: Honestly, this is just going to give the impression that you aren’t ready to give efforts. A thoughtful gift, even if it doesn’t exactly match the tastes of your partner, will always be more appreciated.
Recall past Valentine’s days: They might be memorable but unless they were with the same person, avoid the topic. Your current partner will judge you and doubt whether you’re actually over the past relationships.
Overdrinking: It’s wise to steer clear of drinks at all but if you do drink, do not overdrink. You might end up spoiling the evening for both of you!
Propose: Proposing on the day of love surely seems like a good idea but think it over maybe?
Whether you’re in a fancy restaurant or a lover’s point, you’ll see many other people popping the question everywhere. If you want to make him/her feel like the most special person on your important day, save it for a later date!
Cry: Even if they surprised you to the core, hold back your tears, for your partner’s sake! You crying publicly will put him/her in an awkward position. Enjoy your day together and save the tears for later!
Give them money: This is probably the worst choice one can make. You aren’t a relative, why the money!
